This blog is a meager attempt to set forth the beauty of high-church Reformed ecclesiology, with an emphasis upon the sacramental and patristic character of Reformed thought and practice. This is also an attempt to think through the necessity of a consistently Biblical Reformed catholicism grounded in a unified confessionalism.  I’m a high church Calvinist of sorts, meaning that I regard the ecclesiastical mediation of the church through word and sacrament ministry as the primary context in which Christian piety is fed and sustained.  This also means that baptism, catechesis, the reverent and conscionable hearing and receiving of the preached Word, the reception of Christ in the Lord’s Supper, and the dialogical process of liturgical devotion, ought rightly to occupy the center of the Christian life, rather than revivalistic conversion experiences or a dubious experiential religion devoid of the church and its ministry.  Interestingly, I’m a thoroughgoing Protestant Thomist of sorts.  One of my main interests is incorporating the insights of Aquinas into Protestant theology and practice.  I hope to post some helpful thoughts in an attempt to recover a high church Calvinism consistent with Protestant creedal orthodoxy.  My current areas of interest include bio-chemistry, Old Earth Creationism, Intelligent Design, Reformed sacramentology, political philosophy, natural law, the writings of Francis Schaeffer, and much more!

This is where I’m coming from, hence the long description!  Feel free to interact as I learn along with you.
